01/12/2022 Update

Mom Carla ~

First let me thank those that donated yesterday for Giving Tuesday! I really appreciate it so much! Considering the time of year, economy, and how much we asked for this year I'm thrilled that Tuxie's Legacy was thought of!

Yesterday Dr Floyd got Markus's results back from his nasal culture. He has pseudomonas, a bacteria. Yes, I had to look it up. It is responsive to Veraflox so we keep him on it. It's hard to clear up sometimes if the immune system is compromised (FIP) but it's NOT a URI like I was worried about.

As this is the last day of the month and he already had his shot, tomorrow marks the big countdown for us: 23 days left of treatment, hopefully, and on the 23rd we should be able to go into observation. All paws crossed! His labs have show massive improvement so I hope on the 22nd they will look BORING and NORMAL!

Now some pawsome news... Jean-Marc will be getting a forever home on Sunday! His new mom adopted from me last year so I really hope it works out for them! All good thoughts for a pawsome adoption! Jean-Marc is so sweet and good. He deserves this.

Sorry not so many pictures today. I had to go 2 cities over to another post office because the N Houston Distribution facility is incompetent and sent Markus's meds there! An hour and a half later I have them safe. I couldn't take any chances of a massive delay when we're so close to the finish line.

Donations are still welcome! Funds or supplies are always needed. Markus still has labs, we're still getting final shots done, and there's 2 more neuter surgeries needed. At the beginning of the year the 5 loafs and Coco-puff will also need spay/neuter as well. Rescue needs never end. If you can help please PayPal or Zelle to info@tuxieslegacy.org or you can donate directly to our vet, SugarLand Pet Hospital, 281-491-5533, account 7212.

As horrible as the year has been I'm still thankful to have been able to do as much as I have to save as many as I could. Even when it felt like the whole world would fall apart I got through. And I'm especially thankful for the generosity of the cat community for making it possible to treat Markus! His treatment, alone, has cost $1,450. That doesn't include all the vet stuff, oral meds, B12, ringworm treatment, scale, supplements, and high end kitten food. He is worth every penny spent! They all are but I hope I never have to do this again.

Thank you for being here and all the support through everything!

Be pawsome! Do pawsome! This is the way.
