Vader got his labs and therapy this morning and everything is looking good!
Blood work showed major improvement! Honey is helping the scabs heal faster than Vetricyn! I was double charged for therapy but they switched it to a credit. I'll take him next week for another treatment.
Now a small rant....
Twice this week I got phone calls to rehome or foster. I don't know these people and I'm not sure where they got my number.
I CAN'T TAKE ANYMORE! I'm tired of hearing the excuses people give, too. "I'm moving to a place that doesn't take pets", "I found a cat but I'm allergic", divorce, don't have time, etc.
Small rescues have been overwhelmed by the overflow that shelters can't/won't take. I am no exception. I have stretched myself as far as possible; physically, mentally, financially.
If you find a cat/kitten you need to do your part if you want to save it! That means it's on you to take care of it and find a home.
I'm not trying to be harsh but your good intentions are not well thought out if you expect a phone call will solve all your problems. Believe me, I would take them all if I had the time, space, and money! I have gone way beyond my own set limits to save as many as I can and done so at great, personal expense. I have no life outside of rescue because I kept my own "wants" as well as needs in the background.
Every rescue I know of is in the same situation. None of us are happy to have to say NO. None of us bleed money or space though. It's the ugly truth of rescue.
I, personally, could have used the $45,000 in FIP treatment for a catio but I chose to save the cats instead. Now, nobody wants a a cat that had FIP. Nobody wants the "plain looking" tabby. Nobody wants a feral amputee. Hell, they don't even want the lovable amputee!
So.... NO. I can't help the people who find a cat and didn't think it out. Sorry. I wish I could but my resources are spent.
Enjoy pictures of the kitties. I have work now.
Sorry for the rant.
