It's almost 12 am and I finally got all the blood cleaned up.
DON'T ask what happened because I don't know. I'm not even sure what I'm looking at. I already talked to Dr Floyd and Sugar goes with Riley tomorrow!
From what I can see (after I got the bleeding stopped) it looks like the 2 layers of skin split apart near the top of her left ear. It also looks like a cut down the side. I looked everywhere for a source! There was no cat fight! IDK WTF!
It was like a crime scene. I saw a quarter size spot of blood and then saw more by the back window. When I moved the curtain I saw a 4"X6" puddle of blood and started looking for a dead cat! I seriously thought it came out from one end or the other and I would find someone hemorrhaging out! Then I saw Sugar dripping blood.
I did have her wrapped to stop the bleeding but she started scratching before I could get a cone on her (I don't even have one) and pulled the wrap off. So I sat in the blood splattered powder room that has become our cat hospital and help pressure for 30 minutes. I also packed the gauze with antibiotic ointment.
Through the last 3 hours she has purred and ate a can of food. Dripping and flinging blood all over but now resting. I can't even speculate what will be done tomorrow.
So. Yeah. That's been my evening. Boogie cleaned up the giant spot in the windowsill. I cleaned the powder room. Sugar is in the way by the toilet so I'll get the rest tomorrow because I want her to stay still.
PLEASE help if you can! As usual, I never expected this!
Direct donations to SugarLand Pet Hospital, 281-491-5533, account 7212 would be best. They open at 7am central time. Or you can PayPal or Zelle info@tuxieslegacy.org with SUGAR in notes.
Thank you for anything you can do! Please share! Poor Sugar has been through getting shot with pellets, FIV+, survived FIP, now this.
She still purrs through it all.
