I don't know how to post this and I'm mentally all over the place right now so forgive me.
Poe went to the vet yesterday.
Several days before I brought him here my brother said he was limping and his eating was off. So Dr Floyd ran everything and did x-rays.
There is no indication of injury and she feels it's probably arthritis. His blood work is another story and x-ray shows fluid around his lungs. Just to be sure, all labs were sent to my FIP admin. Unfortunately, she agrees with Dr Floyd that it's NOT FIP..... They both think it's cancer.
There is a slight possibility that it's an infection called pyothorax. We're doing pred and Veraflox for now and he will go back next Tuesday to see if this gets rid of the fluid. If it doesn't, well, diagnosis confirmed and he will be kept comfortable until the end.
That's all I got right now and I'm not answering questions about what kind of cancer, have you tried blah blah blah, etc. Please don't. I'm going through more than I ever have and just can't deal.
All the credit at the vet was used yesterday. I have 3 vet appointments next week. Vader's final labs, Sandy's labs, and Poe's x-ray recheck.
I know it's the worst time of year to ask for donations but I have to. Any amount is good! $5! Nothing is too small! But please only help IF you can. I don't want anyone giving if it takes away from your own family, needs, holiday. Thank you for shares or anything you can do.
