Don't know when I will have time or sanity for a proper post again but trying for this one.
My mother is being transferred to skilled nursing/hospice this weekend.
She is heavily medicated with Oxy for pain. She seems happy enough (Oxy would do that) and is eating a little bit. She still loops over phrases and ideas. She knows us but midway through visit will ask who we are. My brother brought a stuffed animal for her and she thinks it's real. It's very sweet to watch her love on him and tell him he's a good baby. She's about 3 years old in her head now.
My brother and I have been working for the past week to get the house cleaned out for sale. It has caused a lot of emotions and stress. Kind of hard for me to help physically because of sciatica but I go through 40 years of paperwork and crap. Mom's clothes have been donated to a women's shelter and all her medical supplies are going to a friend who runs a low cost clinic.
I continue with FIP meds for Sandy but, hopefully, that will be over this Friday when she and Vader get labs. Poe hates meds and I worry about stressing him but I have to try. He has another x-ray on Christmas Eve to see if the Lasix does anything to the fluid. I don't want to HAVE to let him go on that day....
Christmas. Yeah. I have nothing. It's just another day this year. I will try for my family but they know I'm just going through the motions. I'm glad all my kids are old enough to understand.
Normally I do thank everyone with a comment when they say they donated but I haven't been doing that. Thank you! Each and every person that has donated and shared! This whole year has been crisis mode it seems. You all have helped get us through everything.
With Goose needing extractions I will continue to ask for help.
