As I write this post I can honestly say that my soul is destroyed from the last 24 hours.
The cat I called Nathan is actually named Patch. He was put outside on the advice of the owner's vet to "decompress" because he wasn't getting along with the other cats and peeing inappropriately.
Now he is on day 4 of being stuck in a tree at the belligerent neighbors house behind me. This horrible POS is the owner of 2 vicious dogs that are always outside. The POS refuses to allow ANYONE in his backyard to rescue, including the owner! And guess what?! There's not a f*cking thing we can do! We have been through every channel, resource, law agency and it's all the same. According to the laws he doesn't have to allow anyone in even though a cat will die.
Please don't tell me who to call or go to the media. I've heard it all and Patch is getting tired and weak. He will die if he doesn't leave the tree on his own.
I was out in back until 2am with the owner trying to get him to come down. Even now, horribly, I can hear him through my walls, crying and meowing. I'm going to continue to try as long as he holds out. I'm hoping to piss the POS off enough to threaten me so I can have him arrested! If I can get him off the property the owner can go in and get Patch. But this old coot seems highly unstable...
I called the sheriff twice yesterday. I'm happy to say I at least ruined his sleep with the sheriff at 1am. The sheriff tried to tell him to just let the owner go get the cat and nobody would ever bother him again but he still refused and cussed the sheriff out! The only means of getting on the property is a warrant. Patch probably doesn't have that much time.
I'm watching and listening to a cat I cared for basically die. This has been going on since 8am yesterday. I couldn't even really enjoy Sugar being cured.
So today, please, with everything you can give of your spirit, pray for a miracle. Pray Patch will have the strength and courage to get out of the tree and make it to safety.
I am broken over this.
PLEASE! No comments about the fire department, ladders, or anything of that nature. WE CAN'T GO ONTO HIS PROPERTY WITHOUT A WARRANT AND HE CAN LEGALLY SHOOT ANYONE TRESPASSING!
