26/10/2023 Crew Vet Update

Updated: Oct 29, 2023

Always an adventure....

Luke and Ray got their labs done yesterday. Ray's globulin and white cells went up slightly (not a good thing) but his albumin did too (very good thing) so his ratio hasn't changed. He's acting totally normal and gained more weight so my admin is fine with his progress. 1 more month to go!

Luke is only 4 weeks into treatment and his labs are the most normal I've ever seen! Everyone was impressed! I hope this continues!

Last night I noticed Zander's left lymph node was huge! I've been treating his right eye so he's on Veraflox for 10 days (thanks to Dr Floyd for always dealing with these things after hours!) and he hates it!

This morning I go out to feed Timmy and Freddie... Freddie comes limping up to me. Dropped him at the vet immediately! I don't see anything on his paws but he needs his boosters anyway because he's outside.

Bob is also being dropped with Sophina next week because he lost weight when Ray was in our room torturing everyone. No, I don't think it's FIP. He has no fever, acts normal, but isn't eating as much. He hides when I give treats. I think he might just be scared still but this has to be checked out.

SIGH!

This is why the rescue needs so much help. Vet care is paramount to quality of life. No cat will do without vet care, even if I have to run a balance.

I also need to get certain foods that we're out of. I am looking for less expensive options but haven't found quality/quantity/price that I have now. I have been told "my cats do just fine on Friskies" and that I should use a cheaper food. Well, my cats don't get UTI and several have to eat quality food because they have medical conditions. I stand by my decision to spend more on food than risk an infection.

The auction of just 4 items raised $103! Thank you to everyone! It goes to Sophina's surgery next week!

So, again, please help however you can. $3, $300, a share, EVERYTHING HELPS! PayPal or Zelle info@tuxieslegacy.org with RESCUE in notes.

I will update on poor Freddie after I hear from Dr Floyd.

Thank you for all you do to helps the kitties stay healthy and thrive!
