3 weeks ago Markus was given what, a few years ago, would have been a death sentence. The dred of all cat parents, Feline Infectious Peritonitis; FIP.
Today is day 21 of treatment! We are 1/4 way through and he's healthier than he's ever been! He started this journey at 2lbs 11ozs and is now over 4lbs. He plays hard, he eats like a horse, and he acts like a normal 5 month old kitten. He has the chance to beat this disease and live a good, long life!
His ringworm has spread but he's doing so well that my admin said to go ahead and treat him with oral meds on top of the topicals. He gets his 4 week blood work done next Thursday. This will show (hopefully) any improvements.
On a personal note, it's impossible to not see that he's Jessikat's brother. The way he uses his paws to play is exactly like she did. His expressions and behavior are so similar. He's practicing foot grabbing from under the bed. It's beautiful and bittersweet.
