Mom Carla~

Yeah, bet you're tired of hearing from me. Sometimes I get to talk, too.... Don't be boring, Mama!....Gia, hush! Here's the remote.... *snatches remote and runs*

Nothing major. We had another storm today. It took out the enclosure on the back porch. Fortunately I never put Giselle and Geneva back out there! I should have just bought an outside enclosure! Hard lesson learned. I can salvage most of it but I'll probably just take it down.

Patrick hasn't needed any pain meds and is just as purry and happy as if he never had surgery. He's learned to manipulate with the cone and Dr Floyd wants it to TRY and stay on for 7 days. We do our best.

Markus will start taking Gabapentin 2 hours before shot time. The last 3 days he's been growling during injections and squirming. I know the serum stings and start crying because I hurt him.

As he gains weight his dosage goes up so he's moving up to 20mg/ml. Less serum to inject and hopefully no skin reactions. But we still have 5 vials of the 15mg/ml to use. Hope the Gabapentin helps calm him!

I did order the new vials because I can't get caught waiting on the mail. It was going to be ordered anyway. I also got a discount for being a rescue! Every bit helps.

He's also got to be neutered while going through treatment because any system trauma (shots, surgeries) could cause a relapse if he's not on meds. He is scheduled for November 17th. We'll be halfway through treatment then. 7 weeks actually. I still can't feel completely confident about full recovery because I have read so many heartbreaking stories in my support groups.

I do have some hopeful news! Possibly 2 kitties being adopted Nov 9th! And they found us on Petfinder! Paws crossed!

And..... Dixie FINALLY came out and is slinking around! She's still semi-feral but not as bad as Rocky was. She hides a lot but is getting better each day. I can pet her if I move very slow. But if I actually pick her up she snuggles in hard and purrs! She can only be adopted out to a very special home and only after she is more socialized. But she's out!

Everyone else is doing good. Gia has some wheezing but the weather keeps changing so it's expected. Oh, a lady lost her elderly cat and had unused Veraflox and a big bottle of pred that she wanted to be donated to "someone who could use it" and Dr Floyd gave it to me when I got the Gabapentin today so we are ready for almost anything!

It seems like almost everyone has had 1 runny eye, too! Of course every sneeze freaks me out considering the situation. But so far so good. For my birthday and Christmas I would just like all the cats to be healthy and have plenty of food and litter.

OK, we always need help with funds, food, and litter. There are 3 neuters and 1 spay needed, multiple 3rd distemper shots, and the 5 loafs need their second shots. And Markus will need more meds and blood work.

With the holidays coming fast I get nervous because people are shopping for gifts and this year the economy is terrible. If you can help in any way, please do!

OK, go enjoy cute pictures of the crew! I'm done... Iz about time!....Gia! Stop being rude!....Well sorry but you can be more boring than Tux some of the time!....You're a brat.... I love you.... Love you, too, Goblin.... I can finish!
